ABSTRACT

Optimal multiphysics design is by now close to a must in industry. Here only the electromagnetic optimal design is attempted on the hard path of learning “from simple to complex”. Electric machine design (sizing) problem, optimization methods (deterministic and evolutionary), optimum current control problem in electric machine drives (with a case study), modified Hooke–Jeeves optimization algorithm, electric machine optimal design with Genetic algorithms, are all issue treated in a practical way to allow “deep and fast” accommodation of the new reader with the subject.
