ABSTRACT

Various synthetic procedures (top-down and bottom-up approaches) containing properties of BP, composite of BP with polymers and other 2D layered material, comparison of BP with other 2D layered material, and construction of 3D structures of BP and their applications in the field of energy and biomedical have been discussed. It was found that 2D BP nanomaterials including BP nanotubes, bulk and monolayer, and quantum dot BP possess outstanding optical, biocompatible, thermal, mechanical and electrical properties besides other characteristics such as nontoxicity and chemical and thermal stability values. Different 3D structures of BP compounds are thus attractive candidates for multiple technological and industrial applications including optoelectronics, energy storage, and biocompatible material for drug delivery applications.
