ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the fundamental radiators. Electric and magnetic Hertzian dipoles are described, as well as the resulting fields in lossless and lossy media. The fields due to infinite-length line sources and those of a small-loop radiator are derived. The resulting far-field relations are emphasized. Duality relations are obtained. The useful application of images is discussed for both electric and magnetic radiators.
