ABSTRACT
DataOps enables people to put the right work in the right hands and to enable teams to collaborate effectively on the business goal and vision. This teamwork really transforms the velocity with which a solution can be built. The challenge with data systems is that the users are the subject matter experts of the data, and the technology team’s role is as facilitators for the users to work with and leverage the data. Often this relationship gets skewed due to several reasons—for example, users are too busy to carry out this role, IT assumes that it can do it, and the consequence is that the wrong people become responsible for the wrong roles. DataOps is about establishing the collaboration to solve problems, where each stakeholder can play their role, and the feedback from this is realised early and often to create reassurance that this is a better way to work. The result is reduced drama around the solution.
