ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 covers the first game design tool, Praxeology: a series of axioms coming from the world of economy. Eight axioms are analysed, each one with an explanation of its practical uses during a game’s production.

Each axiom concerns a different aspect of user’s manipulation, different starting points, and different outcomes; this allows the reader to have multiple tools to choose from depending on the need behind the use of each axiom in a design.

Lastly, a framework is presented, providing a visual representation of the Praxeology process, other than showing how each axiom relates to the others.
