ABSTRACT

The 15th chapter talks about another branch of game design based on the understanding of emotions, feelings, and moods. It starts off by introducing the reader to useful techniques when it comes to understanding one’s self and what they are empathic about; these elements will be core in the emotional design of a game. Then the chapter covers how humans interpret emotions, how the same event can generate very different ones, and the role that one’s body plays in the equation, thanks to different theories in the field of psychology and understanding of emotions.
