ABSTRACT

Chapter 18 is one of the pillars of the book: it lists and explains into detail twelve golden rules, granting all the tools needed to produce high-quality and modern documentation for any type of document. This chapter is aimed at providing the reader with a foundation that they can use even for frameworks that don’t exist yet, or formats never faced before, thanks to practical rules learned from the direct experience of working in the industry, both from the author himself and his colleagues. The rules range from the must-know charts to quickly display data in a clear format, to the dos and don’ts of a ‘pleasant to look at’ document, from the words that must be avoided to colours, tables, images, and so on.
