ABSTRACT
Wireless technology has advanced at a very fast pace in the past few decades, and it is also expected to grow at very fast pace in the future too. This chapter looks at different standards and professional organizations that deal with the wireless technology standards and the efficient use and allocation of the radio frequency resources for particular technologies and uses worldwide. Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers has developed so many wireless technology standards. International Telecommunication Union is a United Nations entity for dealing with all the domains of communication and computer technologies including wireless and other fields of communication. The categorization of wireless technologies in terms of generations was mostly focused on the mobile cellular wireless technologies. Robust Security Network or Robust Security Network is a communication protocol for establishing a secure pairing or association between two wireless-enabled network elements active in a particular wireless network.
