ABSTRACT

Patient safety technologies have emerged as a critical tool for improving healthcare outcomes and reducing the incidence of medical errors. However, the implementation of these technologies in developing countries faces a range of challenges and barriers, including limited resources, inadequate infrastructure, regulatory barriers, and cultural and socioeconomic factors. There are many challenges that affect the implementation of patient safety technologies in developing countries and provides recommendations for overcoming these challenges. These include prioritizing investments in healthcare infrastructure, building capacity, improving supply chain and logistics infrastructure, promoting public awareness and participation, and fostering stable political environments. International partnerships and collaborations can also be valuable in addressing these challenges and supporting the adoption and sustainable use of patient safety technologies in developing countries. Despite the challenges, the potential benefits of patient safety technologies make their implementation a critical priority for improving healthcare outcomes and promoting patient safety in developing countries. This chapter aims to describe the patient safety issues related to the technology for patient safety, its applications, advantages, disadvantages, facilitators, barriers and recommendations for the best practice in developing countries.
