ABSTRACT

Patient safety is a critical issue in healthcare, with adverse events affecting millions of patients worldwide every year. To address this issue, healthcare organizations, educators, researchers, and policymakers have developed a range of resources and tools to support patient safety education, practice, and research. Patient safety resources for education include training programs, courses, and educational materials that aim to increase awareness of patient safety issues, improve knowledge and skills related to patient safety, and promote a culture of safety in healthcare organizations. Patient safety resources for practice include tools and guidelines that support healthcare professionals in implementing patient safety practices in their clinical work. These resources promote evidence-based practices, reduce the risk of adverse events, and support communication and collaboration between healthcare providers. Patient safety resources for research include journals, databases, and other resources that support patient safety research, identifying gaps in the existing literature, and developing and testing interventions to improve patient safety. Patient safety resources and tools play an important role in improving the safety and quality of care provided to patients and promoting a culture of safety in healthcare organizations. The aim of this chapter is to discuss the patient safety resources and tools for education, practice and research.
