ABSTRACT
System and equipment protection increases operational efficiency, productivity and safety. Containment of fault in a localizing zone and isolation of the faulty part prevents unnecessary outage. The economic impact of a power interruption is high. Each equipment of electrical power system should be provided adequate protection. This chapter starts with types of equipment protection and also deals with schemes of different types of equipment protection.
