ABSTRACT

The power distribution through cable ensures safety and aesthetics and provides the uninterruptable power supply including other advantage which includes reduced risks of fault due to external factors like rain, wind and adverse climatic conditions. More and more cable distribution is being used for integrated township, in densely populated urban areas, in factories and even to supply power from the overhead posts to the consumer premises. This chapter details different types of cables, determination of the circuit parameter of cables including grading and determination of power factor of cable are presented.
