ABSTRACT
The various components of a water distribution system are described with particular detail on the storage of water, including equalizing storage and storage capacity. Different pipe layouts and distribution systems are compared, and their suitability is established. The different types of pipes based on materials and the categories of pipe joints are compiled. The process of pipe laying and testing is explained. The issue of pipe corrosion and its remedial measures are discussed. In addition, a description of the common types of valves, hydrants and backflow prevention is included.
