ABSTRACT
Wastewater pumping is usually done at lift stations. This chapter deals with the design, operation and maintenance of such stations. Both wet well and dry well stations are discussed. The chapter also deals with pump hydraulics to determine pumping head, power requirements and checks for cavitation. The types of lift stations are presented along with their components. Pump operating sequence, pump level setting, sump operation and maintenance are also covered.
