In this chapter, the physical, chemical and microbiological parameters of water quality are presented. Water quality standards commonly used in drinking water supplies are discussed. The analysis of water samples to determine quality is also discussed. Water quality standards are related to health effects. The various water treatment processes used to treat water to meet standards are described. The procedure for sample collection, storage and transportation are detailed.
