ABSTRACT
This chapter gives a general aspect of the life cycle analysis of plastics. The purpose of LCA is to have a goal, set the scope of study, and perform the inventory analysis. LCA can be utilized in monitoring the life of a product made up of plastics, from the time of production to the end of life. The focus can be more on the recyclability of plastics to solve the waste problem. This chapter demonstrates how life cycle analysis can be used to improve management systems. This has the aim of ensuring that more plastics can be recycled or reused in making different products for a cyclic economy. These materials can be used in industries like construction by the production of products such as roofing tile.
