ABSTRACT
In this chapter, preparation and characterization of a typical polymer-silica quarry dust is presented. The chapter describes (in detail) the preparation and analyses of HDPE/PP (plastic)–quarry dust composite. The composites were prepared at varying quarry dust proportions to investigate the effect of the weight of quarry dust on the structure, chemical, mechanical, and thermal behaviour of the composites. The composites materials are evaluated for applications in the construction industry. The chapter is very important for students and industries interested in studying and manufacturing polymer-based composites for application in construction, respectively.
