ABSTRACT

Different instruments can be employed to craft a narrative. We highlight narrative instruments of stories, labels and comparisons and how they serve different functions in project organising. While labels help in creating an identity for the project, stories help in creating a shared vision of the project, and comparisons help in enhancing the perception of justice for the community. We also discuss the case study of the Dakota Access Pipeline in the USA to highlight how labels of protesters are instrumental in creating a narrative discrediting them.
