ABSTRACT
This chapter briefs about the emergence of nanotechnology as a key enabling technology. Over the past years, nanotechnology has opened avenues for new and innovative applications in nanomedicine. Engineered nanomaterials offer great opportunities to nanomedicine, and they have been increasingly commercialized in several industries and can be engineered at nanoscale to tune the delivery and releasing efficiency.
