ABSTRACT

This chapter lists 17 species expected to be present in the Sinai, but that have not yet been recorded or their occurrence there needs to be confirmed (e.g. Adesmia montana parallela). This could result from the fact that a) some species are on the whole very rare or rare at the time of the collection effort; b) no collections were undertaken in specific habitats where some species might live, e.g. caves and bird nests. Most of these species are known from the vicinity of the Sinai Peninsula, e.g. from the African part of Egypt (e.g. Cyptus aegyptiacus and Pseudoseriscius griseovestis) and from the Negev desert (e.g. Gonocephalum costatum rugulosum and Mesomorphus longulus) or from both regions (e.g. Cheirodes submetallica, Erodius quadrilineatus and Gonocephalum controversum).
