ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the first steps in starting out on your data science strategy. The emphasis is on determining a direction rather than a well-defined end state. The idea is to collaborate with key business stakeholders to find problems that can potentially be addressed using data. Apart from determining potential strategic directions, these serve to build credibility for the fledgling capability upfront.
