ABSTRACT

Consciousness is the aggregate of our evolutionary history, forged by ontogeny and phylogeny via cell-cell communication. Cell-cell signaling provides the connection of physiology all the way back to the origin of life, and to the consciousness of the Cosmos as the way in which gravity initiated life, i.e. as lipid molecules submersed in the ocean, packing together, their negatively charged poles packing together to neutralize the surface tension of water…..that allowed for the quantum leap to micelles, bearing in mind that the lipid membrane is semipermeable, allowing for the flow of particles into and out of the protocell, the gravitational pull on the curved surface of the cell producing the energy needed to maintain the Quantum Entangled particles within it. This way of thinking about our awareness of ourselves and our surroundings offers a solution to Chalmers’ ‘hard problem’, for example, referencing existential threats from our evolutionary past. The following is a recounting of that process. But suffice to say that because our physiology is an encapsulation of our history, it provides a way of recalling events like our first witnessing of blood as ‘seeing red’.
