ABSTRACT

The cell membrane is like a mobius strip because it forms a continuous topology between the inner and outer environments of the cell, initially giving rise to the ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ when micelles first formed. Stated otherwise, when lipids were first immersed in water they spawned the ‘concept’ of the mobius strip, because prior to that inside and outside did not exist - there was only one infinite plane in the Implicate Order. Interestingly, the mobius strip resembles the symbol for infinity.
