ABSTRACT

This chapter proposes the event-triggered control approaches for discrete-time systems with external disturbance. Due to the existence of unknown external disturbance, it is imprecise to directly use the system states to design the UIS and feedback controllers. To address this problem, the states and disturbance are estimated by using an extended state observer (ESO), and then these estimates are utilized to design the UIS and controller. Since in many systems, at least one state variable can be either measured directly or calculated easily from the output, the reduced-order ESO and extended functional state observer (EFSO) cases are further considered. Furthermore, the stability and disturbance rejection properties are analyzed. Numerical and experimental results are given to demonstrate the validity and potential of the proposed event-triggered control strategies.
