ABSTRACT
The atmosphere is a gaseous component surrounding the earth as an integral part and its interaction with ocean, other planets of the solar system and land (Earth) generates one physical product namely weather elements and the form the weather and climate of the Earth. Apart from regular weather forecast weather data can be used for floods and droughts monitoring, doing agricultural planning at all scales, conducting network agricultural experiments, using for crop simulation modeling, for monitoring crop pest and diseases outbreak, developing weather thumb rules at village level etc. The millet crops whether small or bold, belong to tropical crops category. The crop sunflower also is one among the tropical climate crops. The purpose of the observatory is to measure weather elements for the benefit of crop production and also to understand crop weather relationship/response. An Automatic Weather Station is defined as a “meteorological station, from which observations are made and transmitted automatically”.
