ABSTRACT

The subject on micrometeorology deals with small scale meteorology of near ground surface with its related elements of both physical and biological processes. When this micrometeorology is integrated for crop production purposes, then it becomes crop micrometeorology, which is very important in the science of agricultural climatology. In the presence of crops, the climate of the area between the root of the crop and top of the crop canopy is modified and it is entirely different from the climate of the crop its canopy. The values of PAR inside the greenhouse at the top of crop canopy was found decreased during the month of December and recorded low at northern and central part of greenhouse. The straw mulching or black polythene over cultivable area alters soil temperature required for crop management in addition to controlling weeds also. The crop micro meteorology study was lacking in the earlier decades because of non-availability of appropriate and sensitive instruments.
