ABSTRACT
Chapter 8 introduces the recent trend of incorporating un-manned vehicles in city logistics. Starting with descriptions of various types of autonomous delivery robots and drones, this chapter discusses their advantages and disadvantages. Critical issues related to these advanced technologies such as their capacity and range, related regulations and their acceptability in the general public have been included in this chapter. Examples from research and practice are included to understand the current state of integration of un-manned vehicles in city logistics in theory and practice.
