ABSTRACT
Chapter 1 presents basic concepts of city logistics, focusing on the use of emerging technologies such as ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems), ICT (Information and Communication Technology), IoT (Internet of Things), big data and AI (Artificial Intelligence), autonomous vehicles, and robots. Collaboration and coordination amongst stakeholders in city logistics are discussed. This chapter highlights an integrated platform based on the emerging technologies and collaboration between stakeholders for implementing city logistics policy measures. Concepts related to modelling city logistics are also addressed.
