ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces several industry verticals actively leveraging natural language processing techniques for various offerings. Common applications include product recommendations in e-commerce, sentiment analysis in hotel reviews, and chatbots in banks that allow credit card cancellations if lost or stolen and provide other assistance. The usage of natural language processing is spread across industry verticals. The type of text data generated by different industries varies in format, content, length, and style. The industry verticals discussed include social media, real estate, finance, e-commerce, travel and hospitality, marketing, and insurance. Products and services based on text processing that are used regularly by human beings are also discussed in this chapter.
