Niki Lindroth von Bahr’s stop-motion animated short ‘The Burden’ fuses Gene Kelly and Finnish filmmaker Aki Kaurismaki into a proletariat existential musical about an assortment of loners, losers and minimum wage earners working dead-end jobs in a dead-end world.
