ABSTRACT

As a follow-up to Chapter 25, this chapter provides more explicit recommendations for conservation practices on farms, ranches, rangelands, and parks. Four management priorities are laid out at the beginning of the chapter, starting with “treat water like gold.” The others include gestures toward creating mosaic, recognizing unique features, and controlling invasive and introduced species. The chapter finishes with a description of government programs within the U.S. that support conservation of wildlife species.
