ABSTRACT
This chapter describes plasticulture development, history, and its present application status in the world. It also describes the application of plastics in agriculture in different ways, i.e., plastic mulch films, micro-irrigation, protected cultivation and low tunnels, crop covers, water management, canal lining, silage bags, hay bale wraps, plastic trays, and pots in the production of transplant and bedding. It also describes the application of plastics in hi-tech horticulture.
