ABSTRACT
Plastics in aquaculture play an important role to increase its production. This chapter describes the use of plastics in aquaculture and fishing; plastics are commonly used for the packaging of raw fish and the manufacturing of crafts and gear. It also describes the application of poly house-mounted ponds to accelerate fish productivity. The water temperature is one of the most important parameters for fish growth. Therefore, fish culture inside the poly house is used for the production potential and growth in the greenhouse and open pond environment during low temperate periods. The fish growth is mainly influenced by the water quality parameters, stocking density, availability of natural and artificial feed, and dissolved oxygen.
