ABSTRACT

In tests of 16 structural models:

Drift increased in a nearly linear fashion with increases in intensity and peak ground velocity (PGV)

The observed distribution of drift ratio was in general accord with the results from linear (modal) analysis

Deviations in strength distribution within a structure from the distribution indicated by linear analysis did not result in problems with drift

Strength and peak ground acceleration (PGA) were not reliable indicators of propensity to drift
