ABSTRACT

Productivity assessment tools, such as the work-study, activity sampling, and the task system, are examined in this chapter, along with both the inputs and output issues. The barriers to effective measurement are also discussed. On the industry, project, and operational levels, methods for measuring productivity in construction have been studied and challenges related to them. Methods like work-study have been used to assess operational productivity. There has been a lot of focus on activity sampling in work-study. To gather data about a particular task, personnel, machines, or processes are sampled regularly. An effective workforce size can be determined by doing work sampling, which can also be utilized for other purposes. In terms of cost-effectiveness and ease of usage, time study is the best. It necessitates the use of a stopwatch and an interval timer capable of recording a specific sequence of events.
