ABSTRACT

It reviews the factors influencing labour productivity in construction at both the industry and the activity level. Furthermore, the categorization of factors affecting CLP is considered. Finally, the challenges facing the construction industry about labour productivity are reviewed. It was found that seventy-two factors affecting labour productivity had been identified and classified into six categories: management and control; equipment and tool; worker; work-based circumstances; material; and temperature. Labour productivity, on the other hand, had a low association with the Equipment and Tools component. It’s because heavy machinery and tools aren’t necessary for a labour-intensive operation; instead, hand tools and the dead-weight roller are utilized for compacting the road’s construction. In addition, because construction is mostly an outside activity involving personnel working directly in the sun for an extended amount of time, the temperature component must be taken into account first when making management decisions.
