ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses the oxidation kinetics of Ge, especially in the direction of active oxidation. Moreover, guidelines for the control of GeO2/Ge systems are presented and discussed. Finally, a fundamental consideration of the difference between GeO2/Ge and SiO2/Si is presented.
