ABSTRACT

The scientific backbone of the Society is its flagship journal Biometrics covered in this chapter. The journal started as a publication of the Biometric Section of the American Statistical Association (ASA); the process of transferring this from ASA to Society ownership is described. The content of Biometrics is discussed, along with a coverage of editors and editorial policy changes over the years, as well as how the journal production was managed. The chapter ends with a brief discussion of the overall importance of this journal.
