ABSTRACT
Qualitative approaches to analyze nonlinear systems of differential equations are similar to the analysis of linear differential equations, with additional care in computation of equilibrium solutions through nullclines. This chapter examines techniques to determine equilibrium solutions for nonlinear systems of differential equations through examination of the system nullclines. Stability of an equilibrium solution is determined through inspection of an equilibrium solution from the phase plane.
