ABSTRACT
Stochastic differential equations are introduced and explored as a modeling tool in situations with random (stochastic) effects in parameters or variables. This chapter introduces a model of moose population dynamics with stochastic environmental or demographic effects. Repeated simulation and visualization of results are used to illustrate how stochastic models are different from deterministic (non-stochastic) models.
