ABSTRACT
The qualitative behavior of differential equations helps understand the long-term behavior of solutions to a differential equation. This chapter develops techniques to analyze the stability of an equilibrium solution for a single differential equation. Tools such as the phase line and a stability test are introduced to characterize the long-term stability of equilibrium solutions.
