ABSTRACT
For two dimensional systems of differential equations, the phase plane helps to visualize and qualitatively assess the stability of an equilibrium solution. This chapter focuses on techniques to determine equilibrium solutions for a system of differential equations, visualization of the phase plane with the demodelr package, and classification of an equilibrium solution based on the directionality of the phase plane near the equilibrium solution.
