ABSTRACT
In this chapter, the concepts of edges or contours of an image are described, which correspond to an important component for image analysis. The main existing methods for locating edges such as Prewitt, Sobel, and Canny are described in the chapter. Additionally, the properties and particularities of every technique are addressed. These methods are implemented in MATLAB for the reader’s understanding.
