ABSTRACT

This chapter explores the current state of auxetic materials and structures, discussing the developments that have been made in this field. The text is structured in a methodical manner to provide comprehensive coverage of the study field. The intriguing properties that auxetic materials and structures possess make them promising candidates for a wide variety of applications. Over the past three decades, significant advancements have been made in auxetics, encompassing theoretical analysis, finite element simulations, and experimental work. Recent progress in auxetics research has opened up new prospects for further exploration. However, there are still numerous intriguing questions that require further investigation, indicating the ongoing development and need for additional research in auxetic materials.
