ABSTRACT

In this chapter, the readers will learn more about why this is through the concept of "technological fix" and be encouraged to think of digitalization as a social process that emphasizes certain values, functions, and users at the expense of others. The authors will also present various definitions of digitalization to show how the concept can be interpreted in different ways in different cultures and sectors, as well as give some starting samples of what a sociotechnical perspective on digitalization entails. For a brief overview of the overall technical and social changes that digitalization entails, which provides a summary from Brennen and Kreiss. Attempting to answer big, complex societal problems with new technology is not unique to digitalization enthusiasts, nor is it a new endeavor. The technologies mentioned in the below examples are relevant tools for the job at hand that may be quite useful.
