ABSTRACT

The lower limb holds important functions in terms of locomotion and supporting the weight of the body. The lower limb is attached to the axial skeleton via the pelvis (the ischium, ilium and pubis). It is divided into the gluteal region, the thigh, the knee, the leg, the ankle and the foot. These regions will be considered in turn throughout this chapter. First, we will consider the transition points of the lower limb.
