ABSTRACT

The primary objective of this chapter is to provide a basic understanding of machine learning methods for rail trip data analysis. This chapter discusses how machine learning methods can be utilized to improve the performance of rail trip data analytics tools. It focuses on selected machine learning methods and the importance of quality and quantity of available data. It presents a comprehensive view on these machine learning algorithms that can be applied to enhance the intelligence and the capabilities of an application in predictive analysis of intelligent rail trip detection service.
