ABSTRACT

While listing the items on websites, it is possible to put them in ordered list or unordered list. Either way, users with disabilities use the screen reader to read them and it announces as list of items and total number of items available from the list. If the lists are not verified against screen reader checks, it will create lot of confusions for users with disabilities since the order of lists and order of items and contents literally needs to read from those assistive technologies for better interaction. This chapter helps share some best practices on verifying lists during website development.
