ABSTRACT

This chapter tries to map the risks and challenges onto the project categorization. The relation of the challenges and project scale is the same as for commonalities. The chapter highlights the critical elements that deserve closer attention in the general domain (like change management), and highlights the primary sources of challenges in stakeholder management depending on the nature of the analytics project. Two areas vary significantly across this line of typical projects: scope definition, and project delivery/implementation. The three most common challenges that could cause such a misunderstanding are: data, diverse skillset needed, and the impact of change. Understanding the business side is critical, and collaboration between the delivery team and business people needs to be very close. Organizing the team in a certain way could increase risks in some areas. The industrialization challenge is about managing stakeholder expectations and understanding the complexity of work in different stages of the solution.
