ABSTRACT

This chapter looks at specific types of projects, provides a high-level assessment of their characteristics from a risk perspective, and comments on the most common problems or challenges. It highlights the most significant challenges that could come up without any comparison with other types of projects. For example, there could be high risk in a specific area for one project type and a medium risk in the same area for another project type. The technical landscape for prototyping is also critical. Prototyping starts with drawing on the flipchart. Data preparation complexity is another aspect of prototyping. Data must be managed differently in many cases for the robust (industrialized) projects than for ad-hoc, so the project will invest some effort to achieve standards. Advanced analytics models often deliver (generate) new data that must be considered in the security setup as well. Management of expectation is connected mainly with the speed of delivery and team size.
